DUBAI (UAE): Powerboat racing’s dominant double act of Nader Bin Hendi and Arif Al Zafeen stormed to victory in the third and final round of the UIM X-Cat World Series Powerboat Championship yesterday (Tuesday) – but were left cursing their early series disaster as Rashid Al Marri and Salim Al Hamli were crowned the sport’s new world champions.

With a first, a second and yesterday’s third place finish to their names, Al Hamli and Al Marri add the X-Cat World Series to their Middle East title with Bin Hendi and Al Zafeen second. Third place overall in the series goes to Team Qatar’s Mohammed and Al Nasr.

To be able to watch the boats racing in close quarters to the shore on the equivalent to a Grand Prix race track will make exciting viewing,” said Saeed Hareb, CEO DIMC

2. Fazza 3 – Bin Hendi/Al Zafeen (UAE)   800
