Launched in Spring 2010 this project aims to track 100 post-nesting female or foraging adults turtles in the UAE,, Qatar, Oman, Iran and Saudi Arabia over three years and identify the critical overseas migration routes and near shore habitats favored to turtles.
Satellite transmitters will be attached to post nesting female turtles during the main nesting seasons in the five countries represented in the Project. Five turtles have been already tagged in UAE, Oman, Qatar and Iran over the months of April and May. The Project will also involve environmental awareness at the local level.
